Japanese Miso Soup Recipe is a quick and easy soup recipe to cook at home. Its a Japanese traditional soup. It contains miso paste and dashi granules.

Dashi Granules is a basic stock whick is used in Japanese cooking. You can add more dashi granules in your soup if you want a stronger stock. Instant dashi granules are sold in packets and jars in vary strength. You can also use red,yellow and white miso paste in soup. Red miso is saltier and stronger and yellow miso is creamy and sweet in taste.

  • 2 pieces green onions cleaned and sliced diagonally
  • 1(8 ounces) package silken tofu finely diced
  • 3 tbsp miso paste
  • 4 cups pure drinking water
  • 2 tbsp dashi granules dried


  1. Combine pure water and dashi granules in a medium saucepan over medium heat, and whisk into the miso paste. Stir in tofu and then gently separate the layers of onions. 

  2. Then add them to the soup. Simmer gently up to 3-4 minutes.

  3. All done! Your Japanese Miso Soup is ready to serve.
